Freddie Mercury - Famous ParsiFreddie Mercury grew up in India of Parsi descent and was regarded as Britain's first Asian rock star.

Known for his flamboyant and openly homosexual behaviour, Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of the hugely successful pop band, Queen and was sadly missed by millions of fans when he eventually died of pneumonia caused by his HIV infection.
